The GMT Function - Where will you choose to go?

An icon of timeless craftsmanship, the GMT function gives you control of time, wherever the world and your adventures takes you. Set against the ‘zero-hour’ standard of Greenwich for it’s point of zero degrees longitude, according to the Royal Observatory in London, GMT serves as the international standard for time. Alongside the 12-hour scale, the GMT function is denoted by the 24-hour scale on the outer dial of the chronometer, where each hour marks a different destination, waiting to be explored. Not only is it a window into the time of any place in the world, but it serves a unique function as a celestial compass. After setting the GMT hand to local time, you would point it towards the sun. If you are in the northern hemisphere, the GMT hand will point north, if you are in the southern hemisphere, the GMT hand will point south.

An aerodynamic marvel of time, the Pilot GMT LE.1 Chronometer is the ideal pilot watch for any and every occasion. This timepiece is enclosed in a robust stainless-steel case, with polish and satin multi finishing. The domed silver-white dial nestles underneath the Box Sapphire crystal, present on both the front and exhibition caseback, which gently rests against the wrist for optimal comfort and warmth. The satined and luminous indices, and recessed counters mirrors the dials of an aircraft and hands are coated in Super-LumiNova to confer perfect legibility for all functions. The LE.1 is equipped with a chronograph function allowing accurate measurement of time (up to 12 hours), and a 2nd time zone. The 4N gold coated and satined Pilot oscillating weight is a nod to the iconic Turn co-ordinator – a device that allows the pilot to control their plane. Evolving the BRELLUM DNA and performance to new soaring heights with this timepiece, the water resistance has been notched up to 100m.

The Movement

This Icon of the Swiss watchmaking, the BR-754 GMT (Valjoux 7754 base) movement, can be admired through the sapphire exhibition case back, the components of which are decorated with Perlage, Geneva stripes and blue screws. In addition, the rotor, individually numbered, is gold 4N coated as well which underline the LE style. A selfwinding movement that boasts 25 jewels and a 46-hour power reserve, it has been seamlessly engineered to serve as the engine of the Pilot LE.1 GMT. Collective with all BRELLUM timepieces, the movement is officially Chronometer certified by the COSC, and delivered with the original certification – so you are assured nothing short of luxury watchmaking.
